Yi Ta was founded by Chuang, Chao-Feng, who was born in 1950 and grew up in a rural area in Chiayi County, Dong Shi. Since the family lived in poverty, being the oldest child in the family he had the responsibility to take care of the family while the parents were away for work.

After Mr. Chuang graduated from junior high school, he worked for a can factory in Chaiyi, Chaiyi Can factory, to support the family’s the living expenses and his siblings’ tuition. During his military service in the air force, he studied part-time to obtain his senior high school degree from National Kangshan Agricultural & Industrial Vocational, and met his wife, Chuang Lin, Show- Mei. Meanwhile, he also used his spare time to visit customers to fulfill his role as an employee to help maintaining the business.

In 1979, chemical can and bamboo shoot can were in large demand, Mr. Chuang started to purchase the land to build the factory and invested on facilities to establish his own company in Ming Hsiung, Chaiyi, and named it “ Yi Ta CanMaking Cooperation.”

Since providing various creative ideas is always a need in packaging market, Mr. Chuang continuously created new can models to fulfill customers’ needs accordingly and successfully transformed to food package and earned Yi Ta a reputation “the most diversified tin can production company”.

Unfortunately, Ms. Chuang passed away in a car accident in 1993. Mr. Chuang’s wife Chuang, Lin Show-Mei and his younger brother Chuang, Chao Chin keep running the company with his belief and spirit “ Credibility and Diligence are keys to customers’ satisfactions.”
